Guidelines and best practices for the development of accessible software

Now more than ever, designing useful applications requires attention to content, design, and layout. People access the computer, smartphone or tablet under a variety of circumstances.

For those unfamiliar with accessibility issues pertaining to application page design, consider that many users may be operating in contexts very different from our own.

In ABLE TO INCLUDE project, as content developers we must consider different situations during the design and development procedure. Each accessible design choice generally benefits several disability groups at once and the entire community as a whole. Accessible design means writing applications that consider these different groups. Accessible applications do not have to be plain and text-based, but special care needs to be taken to avoid presenting material in a manner that excludes potential users.
